  5.   This door allows the user to capture some of the TW2002 game reports
  6. without entering the game.  Users who can not enter computer interrogation
  7. mode in the game (because their computer does not support the ALT sequence
  8. or their communications programs intercepts the ALT keys) can now get the
  9. data.  For players who can capture the data inside the game this door
  10. provides an alternate and convenient method for capturing the reports.
  11. You can even use this door while remaining cloaked in the game.

  14.   This door supports TW2002 version 1.03(d) games.  There are no plans
  15. on updating it to support other (future) versions.  Hopefully future
  16. versions of TW2002 will have an easier way for players to access the CIM.

  19.   You can select which reports you want to capture.  Each report can be
  20. toggled between Yes and No by selecting the appropriate letter from the
  21. menu.  High speed users will probably just get all of them.  Low speed
  22. users may want to get just a few to cut down on trasmission time.  The
  23. following reports are available:

  25.           View Game Status
  26.           Deployed Fighter Scan
  27.           Deployed Mine Scan
  28.           Avoided Sectors
  29.           CIM Warp report
  30.           CIM Port report

  32. Each of these reports duplicate what you would get in the game with the
  33. exception of the following items in the View Game Status:

  35.   Version number:  The Trade Wars version number is hard coded as 1.03d.
  36.                    This is the version most games should be running.
  37.  
  38.   Registration:    The view game status will show the game as registered.
  39.                    No attempt is made to validate the TW registration code.

  42.   There are three methods of output, one for local users and two for remote
  43. users.  The menu will only show the methods of output available to you.  If
  44. you have no reports selected you will not be shown any of the output options.

  46.   Create a file:  Local users only.  You are prompted for the name of the
  47. output file.  If the file already exists you will be asked if you want to
  48. overwrite the file.

  50.   Download a file:  Remote users only.  This method will create a temporary
  51. file named TWCAPD.TXT.  When complete you will be prompted for the download
  52. protocol.  Available protocols are X-modem, Y-modem, and Z-modem.  The
  53. temporary file will be deleted after the download is complete.

  55.   Output to screen:  Remote users only.  This method will output the reports
  56. to the screen.  You should start your capture before you press return for
  57. this selection as the reports will start immediately.  The sysop screen will
  58. be given a message saying the output is in progress but they will not see
  59. any of your reports.  Pressing the 'S' or 'Esc' key will abort.
